9.11
The day 9 years ago that I have still yet to forget. It was my 8th grade year, and I was going through the motions of the mundane morning hustle to get out to the bus stop. But today was my dads birthday. I had just come up from the basement sending by dad birthday wishes, to grab my lunch upstairs. I rememeber watching my mom really upset watching CNN coverage of a Breaking News story. A twin tower had just been hit by an airplane, and she was emotionally and physically upset about it. I was oblivious to what the building was, and the severity of the crash. I recall watching the screen and seeing footage of another plane come into view, and I ," Look mom, there is a plane on its way to help!" That plane turned out to be far from an aid and when it flew into the standing tower my understanding was more scrambled than ever. The day was blur, I remembering school was definitly off kilter, kids being picked up to spend time with family, and frequent requests to use the phone to call home to check on locations of travelling parents. I couldnt think of anyone I knew that would be in the area, but I remember teachers reminding us that the hundreds of lives lost this morning are affecting kids just like us. It was an awful confused feeling. 9.11 was an attack on American soils that has yet to settle completely. Speculations and conspiracys have yet to be dropped, all I know is that it was an event to strength patriotism in our nation, and still a vulnerable subject in the states.
To those lives taken from this day, Our hearts still ache for those whom lost you.
